Alicia Potter pulled her key from her pocket and slotted it into the lock. She heard the sound of many bolts being turned and bars being pulled out. All the security that surrounded the Manor was amazing. Sometimes Alicia thought it all rather stupid. But she was the Minstress of Magic she could have changed had she really felt the need. Which she didn't.
After making her way through the front door and discarding her cloak she looked around the empty hall. It felt good to be home. "Kids?" She called out wondering if anybody was home. "Harry?" Though she knew he wouldn't be. Her voice echoed back to her. But when she heard no response she made a guess that she was alone.
She wandered through to the modern kitchen and opened the fridge. I think I'll actually cook for once. That'll make a change for me and the kids. She smiled. She had not cooked dinner in about three months at the point. She had been far too busy. She pulled some ingredients out and set to work on a real home cooked meal.
About twenty minutes later the house was filled with the glorious smells of turkey roasting, vegtables steaming and Alicia's perfect tasting apple crumble. She smiled and thought for a moment on what her life would be like had she not had such a demanding job. But she brushed that idea away. She loved her life. And her job was part of the life. She looked up as she heard the Manor's door opening...

Lily sighed deeply as she walked towards the Potter Manour. No matter how many times her Dad said it, she hated being rich. She just wanted to have a simple life, yet she lived such a complicated life. She rolled her eyes at that thought. She walked up to the Manour, a slight glare on her face as she looked in through the window to see if anyone was home and saw her Mum.
Herself and her Mum didn't really get along very well. She got along really well with Ginny Thomas, originally a Weasley, before she got married to Dean Thomas. She had heard her Dad's best mate Ron tell her about how Ginny and Harry went out in their 6th year but Harry had broken up with her for fear of her getting hurt. Lily rolled her eyes. She thought Ginny was a better Mum than Alicia was because she got along with Ginny better than any other grownup besides her dad and Hermione Weasley, originally Granger.
She opened the door and walked into the Manour, immediately walking past the kitchen into the living room. Recently, her Mum and her had gotten into a fight because her Mum just plain dispises her. She glared at the wall opposite as she plopped on the couch in the living room. She remembered how she and her Mum had yelled at each other, Harry unable to stop them from fighting. She rolled her eyes again, running her fingers through her hair.

Alicia saw her daughter walk into the living room and gave a soft sigh. She knew Lily wished she wasn't her daughter. She would prefer to be Ginny's or Hermione's. She allowed another small sigh to escape her. It upset her that one of her children hated her so much. But Lily always had a way of drawing Alicia into arguments.
She glanced around the kitchen and then at the dinner. It looked perfect. Maybe I should go and talk to her? She wondered as she pushed the door to the living room open. She stood for a moment watching her third year daughter without speaking a single word. Then finally she broke the silence with a direct question. Alicia had never been one for small talk. "Why do you hate me so much?"

"Why do you hate me so much?"
Lily heard a familiar voice behind her and turned, seeing her Mum standing there. She glared at her before looking back at the wall opposite her. "Because you just plain despise me and you always have hated me from when you first learned I could argue and defend myself." She said angrily, a scowl upon her pretty face. She rolled her eyes as she stared at the dying fire, it's dancing flames reflecting off her emerald green eyes.

"Because you just plain despise me and you always have hated me from when you first learned I could argue and defend myself."
Alicia looked at her daughter and an expression of disappointment and misery crossed her face. She had never hated her daughter and never would. She loved all her children dearly. "Lily why would you even think that?" She asked in disbelief and then looked into the flickering flames.

Maria slipped her key into the lock and looked around the hall she now stood in. She loved her home it was amazing. Then a glorious smell reached her nostrils. "MUM?" She called questioningly. Alicia, her mum, was one of Maria's favourite people in the world. Maria had grown up being showered in her mother's love and praise so she never revolted or made her upset as Lily did. Maria was the perfect image of a daughter. She opened the door to the living room and found her younger sister and her mother in there already. "MUM! You're home for once!" She said happily as she hugged her Mum tightly and beamed. Then she felt the tension between Lily and Alicia. She sighed and stood at her mother's side. Almost as a support.

"Lily why would you even think that?"
Lily glared at her Mum. "Oh, don't go playing dumb. You know it's true." She said angrily, before seeing Maria walk in. She rolled her eyes. Her temper was raising fast and furiously, just like her father, Harry's. Maria was the perfect image of a daughter and it was so obvious that Alicia loved her more. She glared at Maria as it seemed as if Maria had stood next to their Mum for support. Maria was always on their Mum's side, not like that was a suprise. She stood up and stormed past her Mum and older sister before going up the stairs to her room on the last floor, slamming the door in anger behind her, the sound of the door banging echoing throughout the whole house.

Maria rolled her eyes as she heard the multiple slamming doors. She sighed heavily and gave her mother a comforting squeeze around her shoulders. "She'll be all right. She's just going through that 'I want to be my own person and hate everyone on the earth' faze. Remember when I went through it? But I was over it within three months... she may just take a bit longer than I did." She shrugged and sat down on the arm of the chair looking up at her mum with sympathetic pitying eyes.
