Monica had been extremely bored since she had finished most of her work the weekend before. All her friends were busy trying to finish all their assignments before they were due the next morning. At first Monica had laughed at them because she now has a tone of time on her hand, but then she realised that, because of that, she would be all alone. Having sighed heavily, she had gone roaming around the castle.
During her little adventure through the many corridors that occupyed the castle, she had come upon an idea. Most of the Professors were in their offices or sleeping quarters doing what ever, whether it was marking or just reading a book. This gave Monica the chance to sneak into the Staff room and have herself a look. She turned the corner and looked around before making her way to the Staff door as quickly as possible. One more glance around she pulled out her wand and muttered the unlocking spell. Still looking in the hallway she slipped into the staff room before closing the door behind her.

Lounging in the Staff Room was hardly a thing that Hermione had done. Hermione was sitting in a chair, her chocolate brown hair up in its usual ponytail, and her bangs above her eyelashes. She had finally found a day to relax, a day where planning hadn't been a problem for it was done the day before.
"Hello Monica." Hermione greeted to her daughter as Monica had stepped in. "Why are you here?" That was an often asked question by Hermione, who just simply cared about it. Why was Monica in here? Wasn't this supposed to just be for Staff? These two thought wandered inside Hermione's brain, and Hermione smiled politely.

Monica nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard her mothers voice. No one was ever here at this time. Let alone her mother seeing as she didnt seem like that Staff room type of person. She would have thought she was in the library or grading papers. Monica leaned against the door like a deet in headlights. She took a breath and smilied an innocent smile.
"Um...so this is not the sutdent lounge?" asked pretending to lost. She wanted to see if her mother would believe that. It might be a bit hard seeing as there wasn't such a thing. There was a Prefects one, but a second year like herself didn't really have access to a place like that.

Hermione didn't believe her daughter for a single second.
"Monica, there is no such thing as a 'student lounge'. What were you really doing?" asked Hermione, giving her daughter the suspicious look that she gave Harry and Ron in their years at Hogwarts. Plus, Hermione had never seen nor heard of 'the student lounge'. Why have one? They have their dormitories and common rooms for that.
My daughter, lie to me? That's odd. Hermione thought to herself as she awaited Monica's answer, not buying her lie at all. She sat, her legs crossed, giving her daughter the suspicion look.

"Really, I would ...." Monica began and then looked at her mother and saw her suspisous look. It was a look that said that she did not believe her one bit. Monica sighed and pushed some of her brown wavy hair out of her face. She had no idea what to say, the truth would be a nice start, said a small voice in her mind.
"I wanted to see how it was in here." she told her mother. It was half the truth. She had wanted to see inside here, but not cause she never seen the place. That fact she would leave out. She put her head down in shame for lying to her mother. "I'm sorry, I didn't think anyone was going to be in here." she admitted.

"It's okay. Take a seat. Want anything?" She asked, after taking out her wand and pushing out a chair across from herself, using her wand. She awaited for her daughter to sit.
"So, how's school going? Anything cool happening?" Hermione asked curiously. She knew she was probably being irritating, but she was just questioning for information, just wanting to know how everything was going.

Monica looked at her mother then sat down in the chair beside her. She found this a bit odd, but said nothing about it and smiled leaning back in the chair. She looked around the room for a moment wondering why her mother had not just told her too leave seeing as she wasn't suppose to be in here at all. Her eyes widened slightly when her mother talked again. This time its was what she said.
"Please never ever use that word again. "she said talking about the word cool. That coming out of her mother made it sound less cool and more corny. She shook her head trying to get that out of her mind. That phrase seemed to be repeating in her head like a haunting echo.
"Schools good, and nothing happened really. Oh did you hear about the caretakers cat. She was superglued to the wall." she said smiling at the thought. It had been a funny sight and so far no one had figured out that it was her that had caused that little incident.

"Sorry." She dismissed rather sorrowly. Hermione missed being younger, and she could only talk normal with her husband and their friends. She had to talk parent talk when with her children, which wasn't her best choice, but more a forced action.
"Yes, I did hear about the superglued cat. I hear they're punishingly the culprit severly. I do wonder who it is. Do you know?" asked Hermione, looking at her daughter in question. She hope it wasn't her daughter, or she would be very angered with her.
