Outside the castle walls, the sun had already gone down, and a bright full moon was occupying the sky. Despite the lack of light in the night, the moon seemed to be doing a good job of illumination the grounds. The garden was bright lite, making it look enchanted. It was a good night for romance. A lot of couples would be either by the lake, in the towers or harbouring in the bushes somewhere.
The prefectly romantic night was not so romantic for everyone. A slime figure sat cross legged in the garden, their hair glowing in the lightly. In the figures fingers a single red rose was lightly clutched. Strands of blonde hair fell over the figures face, concealing half of it. Bright blue eyes could be seen on occasion when the firgue looked up. As the firgure looked up, the sad pointed face of Gemini Malfoy could been seen.
Gemini had been sitting in the garden since dinner had started. She had skipped it not having had the appetit for anything. Instead she had gone outside and setting herself amongst the flowers in the garden. To most people it wouldn't seem like something that a person like her would do. Anyone who thought that was wrong, despite Gemini not openly expression this, she enjoyed sitting in the garden amongest the flowers. It was something no one knew about because no one had ever seen her in the garden.
Once she got settled, Gemini would usually spend most of the night just sitting there alone with a rose in her hand. Depending on her mood, she would either twirl the rose around in her fingers, or individually pull the pedels offs. When she pulled the pedels off she would be thinking about her life and how she still had no one. It seemed that everywhere she turned, people were hooking up. Tonight that is what she was doing. There already lay three red pedels infront of her.
( I was bored sue me)

Amanda had been walking around the grounds for hours. She wasn't much in the mood to be with a bunch of happy, bouncing people, even if some of them were her friends. She could catch up with them later, right now she much preferred the quietness and slight depression that was out on the grounds, in the dark, alone. She was still so angry. Yes, it had been a few months now, but how would anyone feel when you watch your mom die in the hospital, then try to live your life without her. THen years later, when you're enjoying life, find out your dad died and left a stupid confession about how she had really been adopted as a baby. What kind of person does that to someone? Leave a stupid note on a piece of paper that they lied to her for her entire life. She had still refused to visit her father's grave and hadnt' visited her mother's since she found out. SHe didn't want to face it.
She walked along. SHe had been in the dark forest, though not too far, down by the lake, around the greenhouse, pretty much all over the grounds. She just kept moving. She'd been alone for hours and was starting to get lonely, though she still didn't want to go join everyone in the castle. That was too many people. Maybe if she could find one person to talk to, who wasn't annoying or one of those people who's always saying to her, "Love your parents, they tried hard." That was bullshit. She was sick of everyone saying shit like that to her. She just wanted to punch their face in. All of this stuff had made her a bit vicious.
Amanda sighed and headed towards the gardens, the next place on her list to visit. She had always liked flowers. White ones. They seemed so perfect, like in a perfect world, though she had bought a bunch of them a while ago and spray painted them black and though they were now dead, they were still sitting in her room. She had quite a few pieces of new artwork from her tortures. She sighed again and moved forward. She saw a bush full of white roses. She smiled slightly to herself, though you would never guess it. She picked on and put it up to her nose to smell it. She twirled it in her hand a few times until she felt a prick. She hadn't noticed the thorns on it. She looked at her finger and sighed. She stuck the wound into her mouth instinctively.
She took out her wand to heal it, but then put it away. There was no point. SHe might as well just let it bleed. It was small anyway and she didnt' really care. Give her something else to think about. She held the rose right below the bud where there were no thorns instead. She moved farther forward, looking at all of the pretty flowers until she spotted something before her. It was a person. Her eyes fell upon a spot on the other side of the girl. She shrugged and decided, why not?
"Mind if I join you?" she asked from behind the girl. THe girl was pretty, blonde hair, just like her own, but longer. She stopped where she was, not wanting to intrude. She, herself, had some space issues at time so she knew not to mess with other peoples. It was just common courtesy.

Lost in thought and unaware of what was going on around her Gemini continued to sit in the garden amongst the roses. Her thoughts have drifted off to what happened a few months back. It was something she hated talking or thinking about. It had been the event that had changed her life completely. Yet no one knew about it, nor did they notice any change in her. With there being four children it was had to keep track of all of them. Plus her parents didn't seem like they really cared what happened.
Pulling off another pedel, Gemini relived the event in her mind. Because of it she felt dirty all the time. She can't look at people the same, everything changed. It was why she had stated to cut. The pain brought her a high, which took away the feelings and memories. It brought her new and better ones. That is the way she delt with it. She hated talking about it, and really she didn't have anyone she could tell. No one that would understand. At least that is what she thought. So she continued to play her happy, I am alright act.
Being lost in her train of thought, Gemini was slightly startled by Amandas apparence. She tried not to show it too much, but the slight jump was evident. Looking up at Amanda she shrugged lightly. "Sure, why not." she told her looking at the space beside her. It was full of some of the pedels she threw there but other then that it was vacent.

Amanda looked around her. It was chilly outside on the grounds. No sun for warmth, but the weather had never really bothered her, hot or cold, but she was warm enough in her regular blue jeans and a black t-shirt with a band on it that no one's ever heard of, but that was usual. She listened to tons of bands that no one had ever heard of, that was the way it was. She was almost always found in jeans, sometimes skirts. She hated her uniform though so right after classes she would hurry down to the Slytherin Commonroom and to her dormatory to change. No originality in uniforms.
"Sure, why not."
"Thanks." she replied and walked closer, sitting down beside Gemini, not minding the petals that she was now sitting on. "Whats up?" she asked as she looked around. Now that she thought about it she hadn't seen Gemini all that day or very much all week. That was odd. Amanda was usually the quiet one of all of her friends and she was very perceptive to everything around her. She knew pretty much everyone in the school, but most didn't know her. SHe didn't like many of them. SHe wasn't one who had a ton of friends. There were her best friends that she always hung out with, then other friends that she got along with and would talk to whenever she saw them, and then there were the friends that you knew but didn't really talk you, you just kinda said "hi" to, then a million and a half aquaintances and then of course, the most lovely enemies, which she had tons of. She didn't look it, but when she wanted to, she could be a bitch, and when people messed with her friends, which they tended to do a lot, she'd join in the fight willingly. It seemed that her best friends were always fighting with people anyway, so she was always there. Thats when her quietness turned into shouting, screaming, and bitching.

Gemini shivered slightly when a cold gust of wind went by the garden. Having been snapped out of her train of thought, she became aware of the cold that was surrounding her. It was something she didn't notice before. Something she never really noticed before. The only thing she would notice would be the high she was on when she cut. The rest of the time her whole body would be in a perminet numb. If it wasn't then she would do anything that would bring her back to that state.
She gave Amanda a sideways glace when she sat down. She hadn't talked to anyone in a long time and it was a wonder she had said anything right now. Quickly in her head she formulated an excuse she would use if asked why she looked so down. The only thing that she could come up with was the whole not having someone. It should work if she played her cards right. Now she put on a small smile. "Enjoying the night." she responded to her question. It was what she was doing. "What about you?" she asked back. It ws time to put on her usual routine.

"Enjoying the night."
Mandy nodded. "Thats good." she replied and smiled slightly. She figured she was probably one of the most boring people to be with right now, but better than being alone? Maybe. She knew that she certainly would sometimes rather be alone. Either way if she felt that Gemini wanted her to leave, she would. She didn't want to depress anybody. Thats probably why she pretty much never talked about any of her problems with anyone until they got all bottled up and spilled out to either Faith, Accalia, or Katia. She was glad that they understood her at least and didn't flip out when she started bitching about everything.
"What about you?"
"Eh, not much." she said with a shrug. "Just, wandering around, thinking. Spending some time inside my head." she replied simply. She didn't want to make a big deal out of it. She barely ever made a big deal out of anything unless it was a fight, and considering the amount of people she fought with regularly, she hadn't seen any of them today. She was glad she had run into Gemini, who was one of her friends, and not one of her enemies who she would most likely just throw one of the unforgivable curses at if they pissed her off bad enough.
That was her problem, she had the worst temper. SHe didn't look like she could do much harm. She actually looked rather nice on first glance, or just out of it, in her own world, but she was really just trying to get out of the real world and live for herself rather than others. She could get pissed off too easily and she was trying to work on that, but it was hard. She just didn't care enough about other people, their feelings, or what they thought so that gave her even more incentive not to do it.

Gemini nodded at her when she said that she was spending the time inside her head. It seemed like she wasn't the only one that did that. Althought she doubted that Amanda would spend as much time in her mind as Gemini did. To everyone she made it seem like she was everywhere, always keeping up with the latest gossip. Frankly she did not care what was going on to everyone or the latest gossip. She knew alot of people that thrived on that, she was like that before, but after what happened, life just seemed to be wasted by it.
"Something wrong?" she asked wanting to be the good caring friend. She did want to know if something was wrong. That way she could get her mind off of her own problems. Amanda being her friend didn't make it seem to conspicuous. Maybe for now she should get back into the conversations, it would make her think of something else. Tomorrow she would try and be more like she used to, althought she doubted she would ever feel like that again.

"Something wrong?"
Amanda looked at Gemini for a moment, wondering whether or not to tell her. No one knew about what had happened to her other than Faith, Accalia, and Katie, who she went to when she first found out in her state of shock. She didn't like to dump her problems onto others, she didn't think it was right. When she was younger, she was always the one who everyone went to with their problems, expecting her to fix them and make everything all better. She did it for a while, until she was so sick of problems, her own and everyone else's that she started snapping at people when they were upset and trying to talk to her. That made her cross councelor off of her list of career options. If she had to listen to peoples problems all day long, she'd probably kill herself. It was terrible. Not fun at all.
"No." she finally replied. She decided it was best just to keep going as if it was no big deal, then maybe it wouldn't be. She doubted it would, but it was something else to try. "Just dealing with life, school, homework, tests, you know." she said and shrugged, acting as if it was just that, nothing. She didn't want to be the problem child or the person that everyone was constantly looking at or feeling bad for. She hated it when people knew stuff about her. If everyone found out the shit she went through, they'd all most likely start coming up to her constantly asking, "Hey, are you alright?" and all of her enemies acting as if they actually cared and any fights, they'd all back down. She liked her arguments, they tended to make her feel better. She hated people. She wished she was something else, anything else. She certainly felt like an outsider.

"Well if your sure." she said not really wanting to pry. It did however make it so that she now had to think about her owen problems. It wasn't something she wanted to do, but seeing as she had nothing else to do. Shaking her head, she tried to get the thought out of her mind for now. Some of her blonde hair fell over her face as she did that. Anything. Snake. Flowers. Music. Charms. School. Anything something come to my mind and take these thoughts out of my head. The Moon. Stars. Constilation. Yes that's it, constilation. That will take my mind off of it. List some of them. Sirius, Big Dipper, Aries... She proceeded to sigh contently in her mind as she continued to list them, calming her nerves. The numbing high was slowly returing again.
"School can really get to you sometimes." she added having realised that while she was trying to get her mind off of what she was thinking, she had stayed silent to Amanda. It would have looked really weird all of the sudden. Looking at her lap she noticed the rose, it only had a few pedels left. ''I swear we need more time to ourselves." she told her the act of happiness returning to her.

"Well if your sure."
Amanda just nodded in response. She wished that she could just go back in time. She'd been wondering about a lot of things lately, like if everything was different. If her biological parents hadn't given her up. WOuld her life be good or worse? Would she have the friends she had now? Wouls she even be the same person? Would she be sweet and caring or snobby and stuck up? Would she be the artist that she was? Would she have the kind of money that she had? All these thoughts ran through her mind constantly for the past few months and she wasn't sure the answer to any of them, nor was she sure if she really wanted to know. She hated having magic some time. Why couldnt' it get her what she wanted? Just to know what would be different. "You can't go back in time, magic doesn't work like that." Bullshit. You just have to know how to do it, and she definately didn't.
"School can really get to you sometimes."
When Gemini spoke again, Amanda snapped back to reality. They had been sitting there silent for a few minutes. How odd, she had barely noticed, but then again, she lived in a huge house by herself; she was used to silence. "Yeah no kidding. Tests left and right. Pop-quizzes, essays, too much work if you ask me." she replied, thinking about it. They gave so much work. No wonder they lived there, then they had nowhere to escape to and no other life outside of the school. Even that was monitored. How terrible. She never thought about how much it really sucked until just now.
''I swear we need more time to ourselves."
Amanda nodded in agreement. "Yeah, no doubt about that." she said, shaking her head. "Then maybe, people wouldn't be so stressed out all the time." she muttered. She noticed so many people freaking out over everything and especially during exam times, everyone freaking out over every little thing. Yes, she wanted to get good marks, but thinking back, she never freaked out when she realized she got something wrong. It was in the past, you couldn't change it. It didnt' matter. People got worked up over nothing.
"They should let us live our own lives rather than try to control every aspect of it." she commented. "A lot of people would be much happier that way." she added. It was true. Yes, at home you had a curfew, well she didn't, but most people did, and that was fine, but no wandering around? At least at home you could go to your own kitchen without getting in trouble. It sucked.

She was right, when you walking into the library there would be a bunch of people there. Some would be unconsious on thier assignments, other would have falled asleep leaning against a book shelf and some were laying on the floor in ackward positions. She had been one of those people sometimes. It was interesting to wake up and find that you are slumped against a book shelf with a few people staring at you. Once she had woke up on the floor one foot on the chair and the other on the table. It had apperently been very humour to her friends but she had been sore all of that week.
"Well we do get more freeedom when we get older, even if it isn't a lot. But honestly we should have less classes and have more time to be out in the real world. If they keep us sheltered in the middle of no where we will never be ready once we graduate." she said finding that those words seemed weird to her. She hadnt thought like that in a while. She hadn't talked like that either. Her voice was all happy, and cheerful but in a negative way protraying to the situation. Maybe talking to people did help, just not talking about the problems you were having.

"Yeah, exactly." she said, nodding in agreement. "I just have one more year after this one, and though I live alone in my house, I've never really been in the world and had to do anything for myself, because if I get lazy, I just come up to the school where they clean up after us, cook for us, and basically do everything for us. Its kinda stupid." she explained. She hated it though. She hated all of the control that they had over every tiny little detail. It made her just want to scream.
"I can't wait to get out of here though. We're locked in by gates and held hostage." she said, gesturing towards the gates at the end of the grounds that separated them from the streets that led to the towns. "Its just all so stupid." she added on, though her point had obviously already been made. She hated being a prisoner, not allowed to do what she wanted. She was being punished for no reason. She hated it. She wanted to get away. Get out.

Gemini laughed lightly at Amandas mention of having everything done for them. "Its true we do get things done for us, but not when you have detention. There you do everything yourself. Maybe they'll give a course where they give you detention. Maybe then we will learn something worth while." she told her shaking her head slightly, some hair falling over her face. It was true, with some of the detentions she had gotten it was a wonder she hadn't gotten some of the Professors fired. The agonising work you had to do without a wand. Scrubbing cauldrons and floors.
"I got another 2 years on me. Your lucky your almost done. I still have to put up with this." she said sighing heavily. It would be nice to finally get out of school and be able to go run free. She had alot of things planed for when she did. One was to move far away where no one would find her. For some reason she felt it was better that way. At times she hated thinking of doing that but then she remembered what had happened.

Amanda nodded to this, smiling. It was the first time she'd actually smiled all day. She had forgotten about all other thoughts in her head just talking to Gemini about futures and school and stuff. It was cool, though not so cool when she'd remember again.
"Yeah, seriously. I've done some of the grossest things." she said, sounding beyond disgusted. "I'm not really that girly I guess, so some things don't bother me, plus growing up doing muggle things since my parents wanted to 'teach me what its like' or something like that." she explained. The smile dropped from her face a bit as she spoke. Back to her parents again, those stupid liars. She was so annoyed with them. How could you be annoyed with two people who died? They lied and then left her alone. That was just so irritating. She wouldn't mind them back just for a second to scream at them for it.
"I got another 2 years on me. Your lucky your almost done. I still have to put up with this."
Mandy cringed. "Ooh, sorry." she said, deciding to leave her parents until later for her full attention. "Yeah, I have a few other friends who are fifth years as well." she said nodding. "I'll be glad to get out. Hey, who knows, maybe I'll come back and teach and give everyone candy." she said, laughing again. Wow, she was on a roll today. Guess it was just the fact that she was away from everything that made her loosen up more.

"Well neither am I, I don't mind getting down and dirty sometimes." she told her shrugging her shoulders lightly. It was weird but getting her mind off of her problems helped more then she expected. She was actually smiling for a change. Now all she needed was to find ways to get her mind off of things.
"That would be interesting to see." she said trying to picute Amanda coming back and teaching one of her classes. It would be a good thing cause she wouldn't have to do much. All her teachers were giving them all this work preparing them for their stupid O.W.L.S. She still didn't see why they needed to take them, why not wait for your N.E.W.T.s instead of torturing them now.
